Active Microwave (Radar) Technology

The Active Microwave (Radar) Technology effort under the NASA Instrument and Sensing Technology Program is focused on reducing the size, mass, and power requirements for the radar electronics. Future plans are being focused on a proposed Light SAR Technology Demonstration mission. Congress has agreed to provide $12M for a new start for the Light SAR program in fiscal year 1997.
