Telerobotics Program Plan

3.0 Management Plan

The Telerobotics Program is an element of NASA's ongoing research program, under the responsibility of the Office of Space Access and Technology. This program is within the Spacecraft Systems Division. This program is funded within the Rover Technology element of the Space and Planetary program (UPN 233-02) and the Space Telerobotics element of the Space Platforms program (UPN 233-03) as shown in Figure 3-1. The objective of this program is to provide the enabling technology for easy access to low Earth orbit, operation in low Earth orbit, and Lunar and planetary surface robotics.

The Telerobotics Program itself includes participants from NASA field centers, universities, and industry. The day-to-day execution of each center's telerobotics tasks is under the direct management of the centers, universities, and private research organizations involved to meet the relevant Level 2 milestones. The overall coordination and planning of the program is the responsibility of the Telerobotics Program Manager. This coordination is carried out in the quarterly Telerobotics Intercenter Working Group (TRIWG) meetings which are co-chaired by the Telerobotics Program Manager and the Telerobotics Project Manager.
