TRIWG Annual Schedule:

In general, the TRIWG follows this schedule during each fiscal year.

Winter meeting - user organization technology needs/requirements presented

Spring meeting - all task proposals presented and reviewed by TRIWG

Summer meeting - annual technical review of university program and plans

Fall meeting - annual technical review of center program and plans

However, the process this year will be accelerated a little, as discussed during our last meeting at Ames. Here is the TRIWG schedule for adressing requirements and preparing proposals between now and March 11:

Oct08-30 - draft Level II Enterprise Tech Requirements gathered

Nov 05 - Level II/JPT Leadership telecon to discuss process and expected products

Nov 14 - Enterprise Level II requirements integrated into Cross-Enterprise Requirements Document

Nov 18 - JEST briefing by Level II on requirements

Dec 01-03 - TRIWG "requirements" meeting at JSC

Dec 15 - 2-page abstracts for new proposals due to Sims, Lavery

Dec 19 - Call for FY 99 proposals issued to TRIWG

Jan 21 - Proposals due

Feb 03-05 - TRIWG proposal evaluation meeting at NASA Hq

Feb 11 - TRIWG proposed FY 99 program presented to Level II

Feb 13-27 - Level II prepares integrated UPN 632 program proposal

Mar 02 - Level II makes program proposal to NASA Hq

Mar 09 - JEST briefing for program approval

Mar 11 - FY 99 guidelines released

 

Program Action Items for the Telerobotics Intercenter Working Group (TRIWG)

Actions 97-01 through 97-17 relate to the information requested at the March '97 TRIWG meeting at KSC, and repeated again in the March 14, 1997 TRIWG e-mail. These actions are to provide information for the definition and defense of the program in the FY 1998 budget planning. Several of the FY 1997 actions are still open - please complete these ASAP!!!

97-03 Identify the "Grand Challenges" for the program           CMU, UMd inputs still needed
97-05 Identify major products and technologies to be produced by the program in the coming years, and identify associated mission benefits           CMU input still needed, JPL summary awaiting this inputs
97-08 Provide feedback on the program technology roadmaps           JPL, JSC Level III are only respondants so far
97-10 Describe the major accomplishments of last year           UMd response still missing
97-11 Identify the major impacts and effects of the program over the past several years           ARC, JPL Level III are the only respondants so far
97-14 Describe the proposed FY 1998 program content           ARC/JPL onboard autonomy task definition under revision; all other tasks defined in Feb 97 TRIWG proposals
97-15 Identify recommendations on how to contend with a 25% change in the budget (plus or minus) for FY 1998           No responses received from Level II
97-16 Describe suggestions for any major program changes for FY 1999 and beyond           No responses received from Level II
97-17 Identify any current issues (problems with program direction, available budget, program content, responsibilities, etc.)           No responses received from JPL, Universities or Level II
98-01 Place the Oct '97 TRIWG meeting presentations on the TRIWG Postdoc site, in lieu of a final 4th Quarterly Report            No responses yet received
